Monaco, France – Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, has confirmed his decision not to run for the FIFA presidency. He stated his desire to continue his duties with the club and clarified that he will not be entering the election scheduled for March 2027.
Al-Khelaifi said, in statements carried by the RMC network after Paris Saint-Germain won the European Super Cup: “I am very happy to be the president of Paris Saint-Germain, and happy to continue in my position”.

The president of Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that he does not intend to run for FIFA president in the upcoming elections. This puts an end to the speculation that had linked him to a possible challenger to current president Gianni Infantino.
Press reports had indicated that some parties were keen to support Al-Khelaifi’s candidacy for the FIFA presidency. These reports were based on his extensive connections within European football, as well as his ties to UEFA.

These speculations coincided with controversy surrounding several FIFA-related issues, including commercial projects and the future of the Club World Cup. However, Al-Khelaifi confirmed his decision to continue leading Paris Saint-Germain in the coming period.
Al-Khelaifi’s decision comes after a successful period for the French club, during which they won several titles, most recently the UEFA Super Cup. The club now continues its preparations to compete for titles in the new season.
