Gaza, Palestine – The United Nations has warned of a deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that residents are facing extremely difficult living conditions due to severe overcrowding in displacement camps. The worsening problems of pollution, disease outbreaks, and acute shortages of clean water and basic services are exacerbating the difficulties.

The international organization explained that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are living in overcrowded areas lacking adequate sanitation. This increases the risk of infectious disease outbreaks and intensifies the pressure on medical facilities, which are already severely under-resourced.

UN reports have confirmed that the water crisis has become one of the most pressing challenges in the sector. Residents face significant difficulties in accessing safe drinking water or water for daily use due to damage to infrastructure and supply networks.

The UN also indicated that the accumulation of waste and the deterioration of sanitation systems have contributed to increased environmental and health risks. Furthermore, this threatens to spread more diseases among the population, particularly children, the elderly, and the most vulnerable groups.

The organization called on the international community to intensify humanitarian efforts and ensure the continuous delivery of aid and essential supplies. It also stressed that the current situation requires an urgent response to prevent the humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip from worsening.

This warning comes as international and relief organizations continue to demand the provision of necessary conditions to improve the living conditions of the civilian population. They are also working to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have been facing exceptional circumstances for months.
