Dubai, UAE – Iran condemned the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, warning of their repercussions on regional security and stability.
It also asserted that the United States bears direct responsibility for the ongoing developments
due to its continued support for Israel, according to official statements issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Iranian criticism of Israeli attacks
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory pose a threat to regional peace and security.
He stressed that the continuation of military operations would only
escalate tensions in the region and complicate efforts to de-escalate the situation.
Linking the truce to the memorandum of understanding
Baqaei noted that ending the war in Lebanon is an integral part of the understandings
included in the recently signed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States.
He explained that ending hostilities on all fronts is a fundamental path to maintaining regional stability.
Emphasis on protecting interests and allies
The Iranian spokesperson affirmed that his country will take all necessary measures to protect its interests, security, and those of its allies.
He also emphasized that Tehran is closely monitoring field and political developments and will respond
to any new developments in accordance with its strategic interests and the security of the region.
These statements come as international efforts continue to contain the escalation on the Lebanese front.
Simultaneously, there are accelerated diplomatic moves aimed at solidifying the ceasefire
and preventing the conflict from spreading further in the Middle East.
