Tehran, Iran – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the idea of signing a memorandum of understanding at the presidential level between the United States and Iran is still under deep consideration. Consequently, this step comes within the framework of diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a new nuclear deal that reshapes mutual understandings. Moreover, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson explained that the proposal for a presidential signing is on the table as a strategic option. However, it has not yet been finalized. As a result, the international community is awaiting the outcome of the political assessment phase. This phase is currently underway within decision-making circles in Tehran. Thus, Iran continues to study all legal and political formulas necessary to conclude a nuclear deal that guarantees its national interests.

Complexities of the Nuclear File and Signing Formats

The Iranian Foreign Ministry indicated that Tehran is carefully examining signing mechanisms and the appropriate level of political representation. This is especially important given the complex nature of the nuclear dossier and its multi-party structure. Accordingly, the proposed formulas are being evaluated to ensure the durability of any potential nuclear deal. In addition, these statements reflect a desire to transform preliminary understandings into a more formal and binding framework. Conversely, both sides realize that moving to a presidential-level signing requires prior consensus on all technical and political details. Consequently, the current diplomatic movement serves as a strong indicator of accelerated steps toward more formal understandings.

The Negotiating Landscape Amid International Moves

Conversations between Washington and Tehran have witnessed rapid diplomatic developments in recent times. On the other hand, the world is watching with interest the possibility of reaching a final format that ends the long stalemate. Consequently, engaging in discussions about a summit-level signing reflects the seriousness of the parties. In particular, they are pushing the political process toward its critical stages. Ultimately, reaching a nuclear deal remains contingent upon the success of ongoing consultations and overcoming political obstacles. Accordingly, Tehran and Washington remain in constant consultation. They aim to test the feasibility of moving to an official signing stage. This will only be possible provided that all terms are agreed upon.
