Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – Omani authorities rescued 14 Indian sailors after their ship suffered an engine failure while sailing off the Omani coast.

The vessel became adrift at sea, necessitating an urgent rescue operation.

Sudden breakdown at sea

The ship suffered a malfunction in its main propulsion system due to engine failure.

This rendered it unable to continue sailing normally, prompting its crew to request assistance from the relevant maritime authorities.

Rapid response from rescue teams

After receiving the report, rescue teams and marine authorities moved to the ship location.

There, the crew was secured and the safety of all 14 sailors was ensured, without any injuries recorded.

Crew safety and ongoing investigations

Authorities confirmed that all crew members are in good health.

Meanwhile, relevant agencies have begun investigating the cause of the technical malfunction

and are taking the necessary steps to tow or repair the vessel, ensuring safe navigation in the area.
