Brussels, Belgium – EU High Representative Kaja Kallas warned of escalating tensions. Consequently, she confirmed that returning to a wide-scale war will lead to catastrophic repercussions. Moreover, she warned of the danger of an expanding regional conflict in the Middle East. As a result, already existing security, economic, and humanitarian crises will worsen. Thus, European anxiety grows over the region sliding into an open and comprehensive confrontation.

The Repercussions of Full-Scale Confrontation on the Economy and Global Energy Markets

The impacts of this confrontation will not be limited to direct parties only. Accordingly, the repercussions will extend to global markets, energy supplies, and trade. In addition, Kallas urged all parties to exercise restraint to avoid a regional conflict. Conversely, she emphasized prioritizing urgent diplomatic and political solutions. Therefore, the European Union continues its intensive contacts with regional partners to calm the situation

Calls to Intensify Dialogue and Avoid Human and Material Losses

The current phase requires responsible international action to prevent security deterioration. On the other hand, continuing tensions threaten stability and increase civilian suffering. Consequently, the EU reiterates the importance of dialogue to stop the regional conflict. Ultimately, diplomatic solutions remain the only option to avoid massive losses. Accordingly, Brussels intensifies its efforts to prevent the crisis impacts from extending for many years.
