Kuwait – The official spokesperson for the Kuwait Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Bader Ibrahim, announced that firefighting teams responded early Saturday morning to three “unusual” incidents resulting from falling debris after air defenses intercepted hostile Iranian missiles and drones targeting Kuwaiti territory.
Brigadier General Ibrahim explained in an official statement that the incidents included two fires caused by the falling debris. He added that the incidents also involved heightened security measures and the securing of the affected sites in close coordination with the state’s security and sovereign authorities.
The fire department spokesperson stressed the need for citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution, warning against directly handling any fires or objects suspected of being remnants of the attack.
He emphasized the importance of immediately reporting any such objects via the emergency number (112) to enable specialized teams to handle them according to established safety and engineering procedures, ensuring public safety. He also urged everyone to avoid approaching or tampering with the impact sites.
On the political front, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strongest condemnation of these “heinous and repeated” Iranian attacks.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that this blatant aggression represents a complete disregard for international demands to cease escalatory practices. It also constitutes a direct threat to the lives of civilians and to the security and stability of the region.
The Ministry emphasized that the attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Kuwait. Furthermore, it deemed them a blatant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, as well as a clear violation of Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.
The Ministry described these attacks as a “dangerous escalation” that is dragging the region toward further instability at a time when international efforts are focused on halting hostilities. It also affirmed that these actions are unjustified and unacceptable under any pretext.
In closing, the State of Kuwait reiterated its full and legitimate right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security. It also affirmed that it will defend its territory and vital installations against any aggression or external threat. Kuwait considers its security and stability a paramount priority that is not open to compromise or negligence under the current regional circumstances.
