Ankara, Turkey – Turkish media reports indicate that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is closely following the developments in Beşiktaş’s negotiations with Egyptian national team captain Mohamed Salah. This comes as the club seeks to finalize the deal during the current summer transfer window.

Mohamed Salah became a free agent after his nine-year spell with Liverpool came to an end. This comes amid interest from several clubs in acquiring his services during the summer transfer window.

The Turkish website Sözcü reported that Serdal Adlı, president of Beşiktaş, is continuing his efforts to finalize the signing of Mohamed Salah. This comes after he received praise from the club’s fans for successfully securing the transfer of Belgian player Leandro Trossard. He is also looking to add another high-profile signing.

The report added that negotiations have slowed due to Ramy Abbas, Mohamed Salah’s agent, demanding a 35% commission. The report indicated that the Besiktas president intends to hold another meeting with the player’s agent to remove obstacles and reach a final agreement.

The report indicated that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan requested an update on the negotiations. This was based on the understanding that finalizing the deal would significantly enhance the country’s standing in the sporting arena, according to the Turkish website.
