Kuwait – Kuwaiti authorities have begun implementing an urgent plan to rehabilitate Kuwait International Airport following damage to some of its facilities caused by the recent Iranian attack. Simultaneously, relevant authorities are continuing technical and engineering assessments to determine the extent of the damage and identify the requirements for repair and full operational readiness of the affected facilities.

Official sources confirmed that emergency and civil engineering teams are working around the clock to inspect the airport’s infrastructure and associated facilities. The aim is to ensure the safety of vital facilities and restore their operational efficiency as quickly as possible, while maintaining the highest safety and security standards.

The assessments included a review of air navigation and communications systems, runways, and service facilities. Additionally, buildings that sustained direct or indirect damage as a result of the attack were inspected. Preliminary reports were prepared to estimate the extent of the damage and the expected cost of repair and rehabilitation work.

The Kuwaiti government affirmed that protecting vital infrastructure and ensuring the continuity of essential services is a top priority during this phase. It indicated that additional measures have been taken to enhance security around strategic and sensitive facilities in the country.

Authorities are working to minimize potential impacts on travel, air transport, and trade by expediting maintenance and repair work. They are also working to restart affected facilities according to an accelerated timeline to ensure a return to normal operations as soon as possible.

This comes as government agencies monitor the results of investigations and technical assessments related to the attack. Competent authorities are working to accurately determine the extent of the damage and develop long-term plans to enhance the infrastructure’s readiness and ability to respond to any future emergencies.

Observers believe that Kuwait’s swift response reflects the airport’s importance as one of the country’s most vital facilities and a major gateway for passenger and cargo traffic. Therefore, its rehabilitation and restoration to full operational capacity will become a national priority in the coming period.

Kuwaiti authorities also affirm the ongoing coordination among the various relevant agencies and institutions to ensure the efficient and rapid execution of repair work. This includes maintaining security and safety standards and preventing any lingering impact on transportation and public services in the country.
