Jeddah, Riyadh – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned what it described as the “hostile infiltration” carried out by elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island, and the subsequent clashes with Kuwaiti armed forces.
It also affirmed its complete rejection of any violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and security.
In an official statement, the OIC emphasized its full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures taken
by Kuwait to protect its territory and maintain its security and stability.
It further stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
Condemnation of Iranian escalation
The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) considered this development a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.
It called for adherence to the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations,
and for avoiding any steps that could increase tensions in the Gulf region.
The statement stressed the necessity of protecting the security of OIC member states.
It affirmed that any attack on the sovereignty of a member state is
an unacceptable violation requiring a collective stance in support of regional stability and security.
The OIC reiterated its full support for the State of Kuwait in confronting any threats targeting its security or territorial integrity.
It also expressed its confidence in the ability of Kuwaiti institutions to address security challenges and maintain internal stability.
A prayer for peace and security in the Gulf
She also expressed her appreciation for Kuwait’s role in supporting joint Islamic action and promoting regional stability.
She emphasized the importance of Islamic countries uniting to confront current security challenges.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called for restraint and prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to preserve the security of the Gulf region.
It also affirmed that regional stability is a fundamental pillar of regional and international security.
The OIC confirmed its continued monitoring of developments in coordination with member states
to ensure the protection of collective security and the preservation of the sovereignty and stability of states.
