Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military issued urgent evacuation orders Friday morning for residents of six more villages in southern Lebanon, a move indicating Tel Aviv’s intention to expand its air and ground operations against what it describes as Hezbollah’s “growing infrastructure.”
The warnings come amid escalating tensions in the region. The Israeli military confirmed that the airstrikes are precisely targeting Hezbollah command centers and missile launch sites. The evacuation orders require residents to move at least one kilometer away from their homes and leave the area immediately. They also warned that remaining in the vicinity of these villages puts their lives at risk due to the imminent strikes.
Official statements and warnings
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman for Arab media, Colonel Avichai Adraee, addressed a direct message to the residents via social media platforms, saying: “In view of the continued violations of the ceasefire agreement committed by the Hezbollah terrorist organization, the Israeli army is forced to act forcefully and decisively against it. We have no intention of harming you, so we urge you to evacuate the specified areas for your own safety.”
Results of recent operations
On the ground, a statement issued by the Israeli military command revealed detailed statistics on the results of military operations carried out since the fragile ceasefire agreement came into effect. The statement also announced the elimination of more than 220 Hezbollah members and commanders, classifying them as “direct and confirmed threats” to Israeli forces and civilians.
The statement detailed operations conducted during the past week alone, which resulted in the deaths of more than 85 Hezbollah fighters in direct clashes and precision airstrikes. More than 180 military infrastructure facilities were also targeted and destroyed. In addition, advanced weapons depots and missile launch sites hidden in residential areas were destroyed. These developments coincide with intelligence reports indicating Hezbollah’s attempts to redeploy in border villages. Consequently, these reports prompted Israel to intensify its aerial reconnaissance and combat activity to ensure compliance with the security agreement. This comes amidst international anticipation regarding the fate of the ceasefire in the region.
