Leicester, England – Press reports have revealed that English club Leicester City is up for sale, in a deal that could exceed £200 million, as the club’s Thai owners look to end their 16-year ownership.
The British network “BBC” reported that the owners of Leicester City are preparing to sell the club, after a special booklet on the sale process was prepared by an American investment bank, which includes details of the club and its assets.
King Power Stadium is among the assets offered for sale
The network explained that City Group had included Leicester City Football Club and the women’s team, along with a number of key assets, most notably the King Power Stadium and the training facility, among the assets that could be transferred to the new owner.
The BBC indicated that the total value of the club’s physical assets exceeds £200 million, without specifying a final price for the sale of the club and its team.
Financial losses and repeated declines
Leicester City’s sale comes at a difficult time for the club in recent years, after moving between the English Premier League and the English Championship.
The club suffered financial losses exceeding £180 million during that period, and was relegated from the Premier League twice in just three seasons, between 2023 and 2025.
