to defending national sovereignty and independence.

Unconcerned by smear campaigns or attempts to cast doubt on him,

according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The president’s visit came on the eve of the

82nd anniversary of Lebanon’s independence.

He then headed south to offer his congratulations

to the officers on Independence Day.

He noted that the traditional celebrations will not take place

this year due to the current circumstances.

National dignity and sovereignty

He said: “I came today to emphasize that this region is always dear to our hearts,

The army is demonstrating loyalty to the principles of national dignity,

sovereignty, and independence.

Martyr after martyr, without paying attention to the campaigns of incitement and doubt.”

During the tour, President Aoun was shown maps

and pictures illustrating the areas.

Where Israeli forces crossed the blue line when constructing the border wall,

He stressed the importance of monitoring these violations

to protect Lebanon’s internationally recognized borders, according to Reuters.

The distinctive role of the army

President Aoun pointed to the distinguished

role played by the army deployed in the south,

Especially in the southern Litani sector,

With tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers

Since the implementation of the security plan began,

their number has reached 12 martyrs so far.

Maintaining security and stability

For his part, the commander of the South Litani sector, Brigadier General Nicola Tabet,

presented a summary of the deliberations of the “Mechanism” committee.

Lebanon’s firm stance in defending the state’s rights

and sovereignty over its territory,

He stressed the importance of the army continuing to perform

its duties to maintain security and stability

in the south, according to the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar.

Commitment of political leadership

President Aoun’s visit comes at a sensitive time, reflecting the commitment of the political

and defense leadership to consolidating Lebanon’s sovereignty and protecting its territory.

This comes amid local and regional challenges that necessitate strengthening the readiness of the armed forces.

And to unite national efforts around the army as a fundamental institution in protecting the country’s unity and stability.
