Islamabad, Pakistan – A tragic suicide bombing took place on Tuesday outside the district court and courthouse in the G-11 area of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
This resulted in the death of 12 people and injuries to 36 others, according to local officials.
Accident details
Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi reported that the explosion occurred at 12:39 pm near the entrance to the courthouse.
The suicide bomber was standing outside the building for
about 12 minutes before blowing himself up.
Targeting a police car after failing to enter the courthouse.
Authorities said the injured are receiving treatment at PIMS hospital,
where a state of emergency has been declared.
All available medical resources were mobilized to assist them.
Among the injured were several police officers.

Naqvi confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify the attacker
and determine who is responsible for the incident.
He added that CCTV footage would help identify the perpetrator in the coming hours.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing, describing it as a terrorist act.
He stressed the need to bring the perpetrators to justice, regardless of the circumstances.

f the victims and praised the efforts of the law enforcement and military teams.
Alarm bell
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the incident served as a “wake-up call”.
It points to the continuing terrorist threat faced by the Pakistani army
in the border regions and Afghanistan.
Information Minister Attallah Tarar confirmed that the attack
was linked to terrorist groups supported by foreign entities,
and that the state is dealing with the threat firmly and rigorously.

Security has been heightened in the neighboring city of Rawalpindi,
where an international cricket match is taking place.
Security measures were tightened for sporting and diplomatic events.
Some main roads were also closed to improve traffic control
and ensure the safety of citizens and visitors.
