Dubai, UAE – UAE financial market indices continued to rise for the second session in a row. The Dubai Financial Market index rose by 0.704%. While the Abu Dhabi Securities Market index rose by 0.503%, local stock markets recorded market gains in the weekend session, Friday. It exceeded 14 billion dirhams, supported by the strong performance of leading stocks.
The market capitalization of shares listed on the two markets rose from about 3.572 trillion dirhams at the end of trading on Thursday to about 3.586 trillion dirhams. Distributed at AED 2.607 trillion for shares listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, and AED 979.28 billion for shares listed on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
Large liquidity
Local stocks attracted liquidity exceeding AED 1.46 billion, distributed as follows: AED 497.2 million in the Dubai market and AED 972.61 million in the Abu Dhabi market. After trading 902.39 million shares, through executing 36,345 trades.
The Dubai market closed Friday’s trading up by 0.704%, equivalent to 41.12 points, at 5884.63 points. Supported by the near-collective rise in stocks in listed sectors, led by real estate, industry and banking. Market capitalization rose to approximately AED 979.28 billion at the end of Friday’s session. Compared to about 974.78 billion dirhams at the end of trading the day before yesterday, achieving gains amounting to 4.5 billion dirhams.
The market performance was supported by the almost collective rise in sector stocks, led by the real estate sector by 2.17%, followed by the industrial sector by 0.88%, then banks by 0.17%, communications by 1.26%, in addition to the basic consumer goods sector by 1.92%.
During yesterday’s trading, foreign (non-Arab) investors turned to buying, with a net investment of about 39.44 million dirhams, after implementing purchases worth 153.85 million dirhams, compared to sales worth 114.41 million dirhams. The listed stocks attracted liquidity exceeding AED 497.2 million.
Dubai Financial Market
Shares of six companies listed on the Dubai Financial Market accounted for more than 67.33% of the market’s total liquidity during yesterday’s trading.
According to market data, the total trading value of these shares amounted to approximately AED 334.75 million. Of the total market liquidity amounting to AED 497.2 million.
Emaar Properties shares topped the market activity, in terms of liquidity, with a value of 140.13 million dirhams, rising by 2.2% to 11 dirhams.
Shuaa Capital shares came in second place, with trading amounting to 53.78 million dirhams, up by 14.89% to 0.27 dirhams.
Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange
For its part, the Abu Dhabi Securities Market ended Friday’s trading up by 0.503%, equivalent to 49.97 points. To close at 9977.36 points.
The market capitalization of listed stocks rose to about 2.607 trillion dirhams at the end of Friday’s session. Compared to about 2.597 trillion dirhams at the end of trading the day before yesterday, with gains amounting to about 9.7 billion dirhams.
The listed shares attracted liquidity exceeding AED 972.61 million, after trading on 371.07 million shares. By executing 22,805 deals.
