Tehran, Iran – The Iranian government has unveiled new economic measures to counter the impact of US sanctions, as pressure mounts on the Iranian economy. Vital sectors are facing increased restrictions. The Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance confirmed that his country is working according to a plan aimed at mitigating the effects of the sanctions and maintaining market stability. He also noted that Tehran has gained considerable experience in dealing with US economic measures.
Iran’s strategy relies on expanding trade relations with neighboring countries and economic partners. In addition, Iran is seeking new markets for its exports and aims to reduce its dependence on financial and trade channels under US influence. Tehran is also focused on boosting domestic production and ensuring the availability of essential goods. Furthermore, it supports sectors capable of generating foreign currency, particularly given the ongoing restrictions on oil exports and banking transactions.
Iranian officials believe that sanctions could put significant pressure on the economy. However, they will not be enough on their own to cripple commercial and productive activity, especially given Iran’s extensive network of regional economic ties. At the same time, the government is working to mitigate the impact of the sanctions on the local currency and prices. To this end, it is implementing measures aimed at regulating the exchange market and maintaining the flow of foreign currency to the most critical sectors.
These moves come as Washington continues its policy of economic pressure on Tehran, attempting to restrict its sources of revenue. It also aims to reduce Iran’s access to global markets and the financial system. While the United States is banking on sanctions to force Iran to change its policies, Tehran is trying to turn the pressure into an incentive to expand its regional partnerships and strengthen its reliance on its domestic production and trade capabilities.
