Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced on Sunday that several main power substations went offline unexpectedly due to an emergency technical malfunction affecting the country’s power distribution network. In an official statement, the ministry explained that the malfunction directly led to power outages in several areas across the Hawalli and Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorates. The outages also caused temporary disruptions to essential services and traffic on some main roads, primarily due to the failure of traffic lights.
In the same context, the ministry confirmed that its technical and engineering emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the affected stations upon receiving the reports. The technical staff are working at full capacity to repair the faults and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
The ministry urged citizens and residents in the affected areas to conserve electricity as much as possible until repairs are completed and power is fully restored. It affirmed that it will keep the public informed of any developments on the ground through its official channels. This is to ensure transparency and keep everyone informed about the progress of the work.
