Abu Dhabi – During the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea meeting, the United Arab Emirates stressed the need to ensure the freedom and safety of maritime navigation, including through the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with the provisions of international law.

The UAE stressed the importance of respecting the rules governing navigation in international waterways, as they are a vital artery for global trade and energy supplies.
Reject any threat to trade
The state affirmed that any threat to commercial navigation or attempt to disrupt the flow of trade and energy supplies through vital sea lanes is unacceptable, given its direct impact on the global economy and the stability of energy markets.
Commitment to international law
The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the principles of international law related to freedom of navigation, thereby enhancing security and stability in strategic maritime routes.
