Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Community Development Authority implemented a humanitarian initiative to distribute 250 fruit baskets on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. In cooperation with the Emirates Food Bank, affiliated with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation. Within community partnerships that promote sustainable humanitarian work and consolidate the culture of giving.
The initiative comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to enhance community cohesion and expand partnerships with entities supporting humanitarian work. In line with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. Aiming to establish an integrated system of sustainable community initiatives that target deserving groups and support quality of life.
The initiative included 65 beneficiaries of the “Wolif” initiative, in addition to 185 beneficiaries from senior citizens’ councils in the Al Barsha area. The baskets were delivered to the beneficiaries’ homes through senior citizens’ management teams. Which enhances ease of access and quality of service, and embodies the values of integrated care and social solidarity.
The Executive Director of the Social Development Sector at the Authority, Sheikha Al-Jarman, confirmed that the initiative comes within a series of programs aimed at enhancing the well-being and happiness of senior citizens. During official and social events, noting that the Authority is keen to make them happy and enhance their quality of life.
For her part, the head of the executive team at Emirates Food Bank, Manal Obaid bin Yarouf, said: “At Emirates Food Bank, we are keen to support community initiatives that enhance the values of giving, goodness and community solidarity. It consolidates the approach of the UAE and Dubai in charitable and humanitarian work. The Fruit Baskets Initiative also complements our efforts to promote concepts of social responsibility and partnerships that support the national agenda aimed at enhancing the quality of life and well-being of community members.
