Washington, US – The US Department of the Treasury announced sanctions targeting 36 entities and individuals linked to Iran’s aviation sector.
Grounding Commercial Fleets and Severing Logistics
Treasury officials confirmed the blacklisting of 27 remaining Iranian commercial airlines accused of facilitating weapon transfers and Revolutionary Guard transportation.
This enforcement action aims to isolate Tehran from international financial networks while dismantling illicit procurement routes supplying aircraft components and technology.
International Warnings and Financial System Exclusion
The sanctions list extends to third-country logistics and support providers across Turkey, the UAE, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan enabling operations for Mahan Air.
Washington warned international businesses that continued commercial engagement with these sanctioned airlines risks total severance from the global dollar-backed financial system.
