Madrid, Spain – Real Madrid began their 2026-2027 Champions League campaign with a valuable 2-1 victory over Inter Milan, in the match that brought them together on Tuesday evening at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, as part of the first round of the league stage.
Real Madrid secured their first three points in the competition, after scoring two goals in the first half through Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde.
Real Madrid took an early lead in the 14th minute, after Mbappe capitalized on a pass from Brahim Diaz, before shooting the ball into the Inter Milan net, announcing the first goal for the home side.

In the 77th minute, Inter Milan managed to reduce the deficit, after Carlos Augusto received a cross from the right side, before putting it into Courtois’ goal and bringing his team back into the game.
