Mina, Saudi Arabia – The Saudi Ministry of Defense, represented by its Air Medical Evacuation Unit, announced its participation in the Hajj season with four aircraft dedicated to transporting emergency medical cases between the holy sites and specialized hospitals. This comes as part of a comprehensive system aimed at enhancing healthcare for pilgrims.
According to official sources, this participation is part of a broader plan to handle critical cases during the Hajj season. The aircraft will transport patients and the injured quickly from accident sites or field medical centers. Additionally, the aircraft will transport patients to referral hospitals in various regions of the Kingdom.
The relevant authorities explained that air medical evacuation teams operate around the clock in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Red Crescent. This ensures an immediate response to emergencies, especially during peak times within the holy sites.
The medical evacuation system is distinguished by its ability to reach crowded locations quickly. It also transports critical cases requiring urgent medical intervention, thus increasing the chances of saving lives and reducing health complications during the Hajj rituals.
The operational plan also includes equipping aircraft with the latest medical equipment and staffed with specialized critical care medical personnel. This ensures the provision of comprehensive medical services during air transport and until the patient is transferred to the hospital.
This is part of the Kingdom’s comprehensive efforts during the Hajj season. These efforts aim to provide the highest levels of healthcare, security, and organization to ensure the performance of the rituals in a safe and secure environment.
