Abu Dhabi, UAE – Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, received two messages of solidarity from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain. In their messages, they expressed their strong condemnation of the drone attack targeting the vicinity of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.
Condemnation of attacks on vital facilities
Both sides affirmed that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, norms, and conventions that guarantee the protection of civilian and vital infrastructure. They also considered it a clear breach of relevant Security Council resolutions. Furthermore, they emphasized their rejection of any actions that infringe upon the security and sovereignty of states.
Bahraini full solidarity with the UAE
The Bahraini Council of Representatives and Shura Council reiterated their full solidarity with and unwavering support for the United Arab Emirates in confronting any threat targeting its security, stability, territorial integrity, and vital infrastructure. They also affirmed their support for all measures taken by Abu Dhabi to protect its sovereignty and national interests.
Praise for the UAE’s defense readiness
The two telegrams commended the efficiency and readiness of the relevant authorities and air defenses in handling the incident, which prevented any injuries or impact on radiation safety levels. They affirmed that this reflects the UAE’s ability to protect its vital facilities with high efficiency.
Emphasis on the strength of bilateral relations
Both sides also praised the deep-rooted historical and fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, affirming that these relations serve as a model of solidarity and joint coordination. They concluded by praying for the continued security, stability, and prosperity of the United Arab Emirates and its people.
