Manama, Bahrain – The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in a fire outside the perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the Al Dhafra region.
Bahrain considers this attack a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
Bahraini condemnation and violation of international law
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that this attack constitutes a dangerous escalation
and a clear violation of international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2817.
The Ministry also stressed the Kingdom’s complete rejection of any actions that threaten the security or stability of states.
Furthermore, Bahrain rejects the targeting of its vital facilities and civilian infrastructure.
Praise for the handling of the incident
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the efficiency of the UAE’s air defenses
and their high level of professionalism in handling the incident and taking the necessary precautionary measures.
This contributed to containing the situation and ensuring the highest levels of safety.
No injuries were reported, and there was no impact on radiation safety levels at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
Full solidarity and a call for regional cooperation
Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support for all legitimate measures taken
by the UAE to protect its sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and vital infrastructure in the face of repeated attacks.
It also called for enhanced regional and international cooperation to protect civilians and vital facilities,
and stressed the need to consolidate security and stability in the region and the world.
