Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Nasr Club announced today, Thursday, the extension of goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih’s contract, keeping him with the team until 2028. This move is an indication of the administration’s desire to retain key players and support technical stability in the coming period.
Shambih is considered one of the key players that Al-Ittihad has relied on in recent seasons. He has established himself as one of the most important names within the team thanks to his extensive experience and consistent performance in the professional league.
The renewal decision was part of the club’s plan to maintain the core of the team before the start of the new season. This comes especially as the management seeks to build a more stable and competitive team across various tournaments.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper had an outstanding season with Al-Nassr. He participated in 19 matches during the 2025-2026 season, starting all of them, for a total of 1710 minutes played.
Al-Nassr is continuing its early preparations for the upcoming season, both by renewing the contracts of key players and by strengthening the squad with new signings. Its aim is to perform better and compete for top positions.
