Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Government Cybersecurity Council and Palo Alto Networks announced on Monday their cooperation to develop a world-leading cybersecurity system. It is flexible and based on data and artificial intelligence, which enhances the UAE’s readiness in the global cybersecurity scene.
The two sides signed a strategic memorandum of understanding in Abu Dhabi, aiming to support the development of immediate and long-term cyber capabilities in cooperation with relevant authorities in the UAE. Adopting a forward-looking approach contributes to enhancing the resilience of digital infrastructure and consolidating cybersecurity across various sectors.
Cooperation between the two sides focuses on a number of key axes, including the establishment of a Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence in the UAE as a national platform for capacity building. Simulating digital environments, implementing joint technical demonstrations.
The cooperation also includes developing national competencies in cybersecurity through specialized educational programs targeting youth, students, professionals, and leaders. And integrate it into existing academic curricula and advanced training frameworks.
Cooperation includes strengthening national response capabilities by employing artificial intelligence and automation technologies. This provides the National Cyber Incident Response Team “CERT” with a unified operational vision and advanced capabilities to monitor and respond to threats.
Areas of collaboration include providing consulting services and best practices to support the development of the National Resilience through Design “Resilience through Design” and Reference Engineering approaches. Including cloud computing security, protecting critical infrastructure, and responding to cyber incidents.
The two sides aim to explore opportunities for joint applied research, innovation incubators, and academic collaboration. In areas including artificial intelligence governance, post-quantum cryptography and smart city security.
