A strategic agreement between Tawazun and Lockheed Martin to establish an advanced facility in the Emirates

Abu Dhabi, UAE – On the sidelines of the “Make in the UAE 2026” platform, the Tawazun Defense Empowerment Council and Lockheed Martin signed an agreement to establish an advanced facility for designing and assembling microchips in the UAE.

The project will be implemented in partnership with Edge Group, one of the world’s leading groups in the field of advanced technology and defense. Khalifa University of Science and Technology, the UAE’s leading research institution with a focus on entrepreneurship.

The agreement establishes the country’s capabilities in designing and assembling advanced technologies based on modular chip architectures (Chiplets). In support of its strategic directions towards localizing industries and strengthening industrial value chains. Establishing itself as a leading and competitive global center for next-generation technologies.

Halcon, a subsidiary of the Edge Group, will work to integrate processors based on microchip technologies into advanced guidance and targeting systems. Which contributes to raising the efficiency of setting and tracking goals and enhancing operational accuracy.

This cooperation includes establishing a specialized center for research and development at Khalifa University. Focuses on microelectronics design and development of national competencies. In addition to supporting applied research related to the needs of the industrial sector.
