Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Ministry of Education announced the launch of its first Parents’ Council at the ministerial level. This step aims to strengthen the effective partnership with parents, recognizing them as key partners in developing the educational process and enhancing its outcomes.
The Ministry affirmed that the launch of the Council aligns with the UAE vision of solidifying the family’s role
in supporting education, particularly within the framework of the “Year of the Family” initiatives.
This fosters integration among the various components of society
and contributes to supporting the modernization and development of the education sector.
Advisory and coordinating role
The council comprises 17 members from across the UAE, including influential community figures.
This diversity enhances inclusive representation and strengthens the council’s role in conveying parents’ perspectives.
The council is responsible for submitting recommendations and proposals to the Ministry.
It also coordinates efforts with parent councils at the sector and school levels,
making it a direct link between parents and educational leaders.
The Ministry explained that this step stems from its belief that developing education is a shared responsibility.
This responsibility also requires integrated roles between families, educational institutions, and decision-makers.
