Geneva, Switzerland – Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pugachar, a cyclist for the Emirates XRG team, continued his brilliance in the 2026 Tour de Romandie, held in Switzerland. After winning the title of the second stage held yesterday, achieving his second victory in a row, and strengthening his lead in the overall standings.

Pugachar, the race leader, won after a strong performance in the final meters of a race that witnessed intense competition. He decided the result in his favor in a limited group speed race that included 32 competitors, comfortably ahead of his closest competitor.

The stage witnessed multiple offensive attempts on the final rise, but Pugachar succeeded in confronting them all. Taking advantage of the tactical support of his team, which paved the way for him towards the front before the decisive rise.

With this victory, Pugachar increased the gap at the top of the overall standings, taking advantage of the extra seconds. To strengthen his position as the most prominent candidate to win the title, Frenchman Dorian Godon came in second place, while New Zealander Finn Fisher Black came in third.

In the overall standings after the second stage, Pugachar leads with a total time of 8 hours, 8 minutes and 28 seconds. He is ahead of German Florian Leibovitz by 17 seconds, and Frenchman Lenny Martinez by 26 seconds.
