Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability.
Growing development and economic cooperation
During the meeting, which took place as part of the Mauritanian President’s working visit to the UAE,
both sides affirmed their shared commitment to developing bilateral relations across various fields.
They emphasized the importance of cooperation in development, the economy,
and renewable energy, which supports sustainable development in both countries.
The UAE President and the Mauritanian President also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest,
foremost among them developments in the Middle East and the challenges they pose to regional
and international peace and security, as well as their repercussions on maritime security,
energy supplies, and the stability of the global economy.
Condemnation of regional escalation
The meeting addressed the Iranian attacks targeting civilians, facilities,
and infrastructure in the UAE and several other countries in the region.
In this context, the Mauritanian President reiterated his condemnation of these attacks,
emphasizing that they constitute a blatant violation of sovereignty and international law, and undermine regional stability.
The Mauritanian President commended the strong relations between the two countries
and the effectiveness of the measures taken by the UAE to enhance its security and stability.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to continued joint efforts to strengthen
their partnership in a way that serves the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
