Baghdad, Iraq – Iraqi authorities announced the issuance of 30 arrest warrants for suspects in a major financial and administrative corruption case in Diwaniyah Governorate. This comes as part of a broad government campaign to pursue those involved in the squandering of public funds and to strengthen anti-corruption measures.

The relevant authorities stated that the arrest warrants were issued after the completion of preliminary investigations and the collection of evidence related to files containing suspected financial and administrative irregularities. They indicated that investigations are ongoing to uncover all those involved and to take legal action against them.

Authorities affirmed that the campaign aims to hold accountable all those proven to be involved in corruption cases, without exception, while working to recover public funds and protect state institutions from any abuses, as part of the government’s efforts to enhance transparency and consolidate the rule of law.

This step comes as part of a series of measures taken by Baghdad recently to combat financial and administrative corruption. Oversight and judicial bodies have intensified their efforts to pursue those accused, at a time when the government emphasizes that combating corruption is one of its top priorities during this period, given its direct impact on the economy, services, and citizens’ trust in state institutions.
