Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. It also commended the diplomatic efforts of US President Donald Trump in facilitating this agreement.
UAE support for regional stability
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, affirmed that this step represents a positive development that will support stability in the region. It expressed hope that the truce will contribute to creating a conducive environment for de-escalation and that it will help avert humanitarian and security repercussions.
Solidarity with Lebanon and strengthening state sovereignty
The ministry, according to the statement, emphasized the UAE’s full solidarity with the Lebanese government during this current phase. It also affirmed its support for Beirut’s efforts to consolidate weapons under state control and dismantle armed groups. Furthermore, it considered this a fundamental step towards establishing security and stability.
