Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, discussed, during a phone call he received on Wednesday from His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the developments taking place in the region in light of the military escalation and its serious repercussions on regional and international security and stability.

His Excellency renewed his condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks that continue to target the UAE and countries in the region.

This is due to the violation it represents of its sovereignty and international laws and norms.

Renewing Ethiopia’s solidarity with the UAE

He also affirmed Ethiopia’s solidarity with the UAE regarding all measures it takes to preserve its security and ensure the safety of its lands, citizens and residents.

The two sides stressed the need to immediately stop the escalation and resort to serious dialogue and diplomatic means to resolve various outstanding issues in the region.

This avoids further security tensions and crises and preserves regional security and stability.

Condolences for flood victims in Ethiopia

On the other hand, His Highness the Head of State expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to His Excellency the Prime Minister and the friendly Ethiopian people for the victims of floods and landslides caused by heavy rains.

His Highness affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Ethiopia in these difficult circumstances.
