Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE Ministry of Defense announced today (Monday) the success of its air defense systems in countering a new series of blatant attacks. The systems efficiently intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles and 21 explosive-laden drones launched from Iran towards the UAE.

The outcome of the attacks and defensive vigilance

Official statistics released by the Ministry revealed the extent of the ongoing threats facing the region. Since the beginning of this wave of attacks, the UAE air defenses have dealt decisively with a total of 304 ballistic missiles and 15 cruise missiles. In addition, they have also intercepted 1,627 drones. These figures reflect the high level of readiness and advanced technological capabilities of the UAE Armed Forces, demonstrating their ability to protect airspace and civilian infrastructure.

Human sacrifices and losses

Despite the impressive defensive successes, these treacherous attacks claimed victims among both the nation’s defenders and civilians. The Ministry of Defense mourned the martyrdom of two brave members of the armed forces who fell while performing their national duty in defending the sovereignty of the state. The attacks also resulted in the deaths of five civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian nationalities. Regarding the wounded, medical teams recorded 145 injuries ranging from minor to moderate to severe. The diverse nationalities of the injured reflect the multicultural nature of Emirati society, including Emirati citizens and residents from Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, and Sweden.

A message of firmness and stability

The Ministry of Defense emphasized in its statement that it is on full alert and fully prepared to deal with any future threats. The Ministry affirmed its commitment to resolutely confronting anything that aims to undermine the security and stability of the nation. It noted that protecting national interests, preserving sovereignty, and safeguarding the lives of residents in the UAE remain top priorities for the wise leadership and the armed forces.
