Nabatieh, Lebanon – The Lebanese Army announced that three soldiers were injured while conducting a field operation to disarm unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya, located in the Nabatieh Governorate in southern Lebanon. Consequently, this incident highlights the persistent operational hazards facing military engineering units as they clear civilian areas of explosive remnants.

Furthermore, the military statement confirmed that the wounded personnel were immediately evacuated to local hospitals for medical treatment. As a result, army units tightened security protocols around the site to secure the area and allow engineering teams to proceed safely with sweeping operations.

Explosive Remnants Clearance and Civilian Protection

On the other hand, specialized Lebanese Armed Forces units are accelerating operations to detect and dispose of unexploded ordnance across southern regions that witnessed past military activity. Specifically, these humanitarian clearance efforts aim to eliminate immediate threats to local communities and prevent civilian casualties.

Additionally, military command reiterated urgent public safety warnings, instructing residents not to approach or handle suspicious items and to report them immediately to authorities. Consequently, engineering clearance missions remain vital for restoring normalcy and securing populated towns across southern Lebanon.

Finally, the injury of the three soldiers in Nabatieh underscores the ongoing dangers involved in clearing explosive remnants of war across southern Lebanon. Ultimately, continued public awareness and systematic field clearance will prove decisive in ensuring civilian safety.
