Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian President’s Special Envoy for International Economic and Investment Cooperation, in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the UAE and the Russian Federation,
as well as discussing a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
And the Russian envoy conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the UAE President,
expressing his country’s appreciation for the UAE’s role in supporting international dialogue efforts,
particularly its hosting of the trilateral talks between the United States, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine,
aimed at promoting diplomatic solutions and containing the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis.
Prospects for joint cooperation
The meeting explored prospects for joint cooperation between the UAE and Russia,
and ways to develop bilateral relations in various fields, especially the economic, investment and development sectors,
in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and strengthens
their strategic partnership, in light of the rapid changes taking place in the global economy.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues,
emphasizing the importance of dialogue and joint coordination to support stability and security,
and to enhance opportunities for peace and development at both the regional and international levels.
The strength of UAE-Russia relations
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed
the UAE’s commitment to continuing its approach of building bridges of communication
and supporting efforts aimed at resolving conflicts through peaceful means,
based on its steadfast policy of supporting stability and international cooperation.
This meeting reflects the strength of UAE-Russian relations and the two sides’ keenness to expand areas of partnership,
in line with the aspirations of both countries for a future based on effective economic cooperation,
responsible political dialogue, and contributing to the enhancement of international peace and security.
