Gaza, Palestine – Two Palestinians were killed and four others wounded on Sunday by Israeli gunfire and airstrikes in various parts of the Gaza Strip, according to health authorities in the Strip.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the incidents.
Medical sources said two Palestinians were killed in the Tuffah neighborhood in northern Gaza after being shot
by Israeli forces. They were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead from their wounds.
In a separate incident, health workers said an Israeli drone targeted the roof of a multi-story residential building
in Gaza City, wounding four civilians who were on a street near the site of the explosion.
The sources added that the wounded were transferred to hospitals for treatment, with some described as being in moderate condition.
No further details were provided regarding the nature of the injuries or the material damage caused by the bombing.
The Israeli army has not yet commented on the killing of the Palestinians or the drone strike,
amid ongoing accusations between the two sides regarding violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since last October.
Israeli drone strike
This development comes as the Gaza Strip continues to suffer widespread devastation from the war that erupted following an attack launched
by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on southern Israel on October 7, 2013,
which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, according to Israeli statistics.
The Gaza Ministry of Health says that subsequent Israeli military operations have killed more than 71,000 Palestinians,
most of them civilians, noting that at least 480 people have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire agreement came into effect.
In contrast, Israel announced the deaths of four of its soldiers in Gaza since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, accusing Palestinian factions of violating it.
These factions deny the accusations and maintain that Israeli attacks continue.
In Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, dozens of Palestinians attended the funeral of a man killed in an Israeli drone strike.
Angry chants expressed doubt about the ceasefire’s effectiveness and sustainability,
given the renewed violence and deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
