And what it included of facts regarding the presence of the UAE Armed Forces in Yemen within the framework of the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy.
The Ministry of Defense confirms that the UAE has been part of the Arab coalition since 2015 in support of legitimacy in Yemen.
This is to support international efforts in combating terrorist organizations, and to achieve security and stability in brotherly Yemen.
The people of the Emirates have made enormous sacrifices to achieve these goals.
The Ministry of Defense indicates that the UAE Armed Forces ended their military presence in the Republic of Yemen in 2019.
This is after completing the tasks specified within the agreed official frameworks.
The presence was limited to specialized teams within the counter-terrorism efforts
and in coordination with the relevant international partners.
Given recent developments and their potential repercussions on the safety and effectiveness of counter-terrorism operations,
The Ministry of Defense added that it will terminate the remaining counter-terrorism teams in Yemen of
its own volition, in a manner that ensures the safety of its members, and in coordination with the relevant partners.
The Ministry of Defense confirms that this measure comes within the framework
of a comprehensive assessment of the requirements of the current phase.
This is in line with the UAE’s commitments and its role in supporting the security and stability of the region.
