Dubai, UAE – The Ministry of Defence announced that the UAE Air Force and Air Defence Forces have successfully detected and intercepted 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones targeting the country’s territory since the start of the Iranian offensive. Moreover, the Ministry affirmed the high readiness of the air defense systems and their ability to counter various threats.

The ministry explained that 132 out of 137 missiles were destroyed, while 5 missiles fell into the sea. Additionally, 209 drones were detected. 195 drones were intercepted, while 14 crashed within the country’s territory and waters, causing minor collateral damage.

The ministry indicated that intercepting missiles and drones resulted in some debris falling in various areas. This caused minor material damage to a number of civilian properties. It added that the relevant authorities immediately mobilized and were fully prepared to deal with the situation according to established procedures. Furthermore, the necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of residents and secure the affected sites.

The Ministry of Defense condemned the attack in the strongest terms, affirming the UAE’s categorical rejection of such acts. They affirmed that these acts constitute a dangerous escalation, threaten the security and safety of civilians, and undermine stability. Likewise, it emphasized that the attack is a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law. The Ministry also affirmed the UAE’s full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territory, its people, and its residents.

The ministry concluded by emphasizing its continued state of readiness to deal with any threats. It also urged the public to obtain information from official sources and avoid spreading rumors or unreliable information.
