Dubai, UAE – Dubai Electricity and Water Authority “Dewa” announced the inauguration of eight main transmission stations during the current year 2025.

In addition to extending 250-kilometre-long ground cables and overhead transmission lines, at a total cost exceeding 1.35 billion dirhams.

This is in the areas of: «Al-Warsan 4», «Al-Yalais 5», «Hatta», «Sih Shuaib 3», «Al-Habibiya 5», and «Jabal Ali I».

Dewa pointed out that this comes within the framework of efforts to develop an advanced electricity infrastructure that meets the rapid growth of the Emirate of Dubai.

Dewa added that five projects have been initiated to establish main transportation stations «with a voltage of 132 kilovolts» to supply new citizens’ housing areas.

In addition to other areas including «Al-Satwa» and «Zabeel II», at a total cost of up to 560 million dirhams.

The number of major transmission station projects «voltage 132 kV» that began work in 2025 has risen to 22 stations.

The Authority plans to establish more than 78 stations «voltage 132 kilovolts» over the next three years.

«Dewa» confirmed that the new stations represent an important addition to the current electricity transmission network, which includes 394 stations, by the end of the third quarter of 2025.

Of these, 27 stations «voltage 400 kV», and 367 stations voltage 132 kV.
