Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, presented a comprehensive future vision for the UAE’s path over the coming decades, in his speech on the occasion of the 54th Union Day.

He stressed that identity, values, family, education, technology and sustainability form the pillars of the UAE’s project towards 2050.

People first… the cornerstone of every transformation

The President stressed that the citizen is the beating heart of the development process and its creator,

And that empowering him and his participation in building the nation represents “a non-negotiable priority”.

He noted the continued support for localization programs in the public and private sectors, and the strengthening of the presence of national talent.

This is in the fields of the new economy and vital sectors related to technological transformation.

His Highness praised the remarkable progress in youth participation through initiatives such as “Nafes”,

While emphasizing that the road is long and the state’s ambitions are greater.

The family: a guarantee of societal security

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed stressed that a cohesive family is the first line of defense in protecting society.

A key pillar of national security.

He paused to consider the creation of the Ministry of Family and the renaming of the Ministry of Community Development to the Ministry of Community Empowerment.

In addition to designating 2026 as the Year of the Family,

As a step that enhances the role of the family in preserving identity and shaping future generations.

National identity: an unchanging force

The head of state called on educational and cultural institutions to give more space to education and values.

He stressed that preserving the Arabic language and national identity is the way to raise a generation that combines scientific progress and belonging.

In this context, His Highness said: “A nation without an identity is a nation without a present or a future.”

Education: The most important investment in building tomorrow

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed placed education at the forefront of the state’s priorities, considering it the most influential investment in future decades.

He emphasized the continued development of the educational system and its linkage to the national economy.

And the needs of the labor market, with a focus on scientific research,

Developing the skills of young people, attracting global talent, and raising the quality of education at all levels.

Artificial intelligence: A gateway to 2050

His Highness explained that the UAE is confidently moving towards enhancing its capabilities in advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

And creating global partnerships that contribute to building a competitive and advanced economy.

He called on young people to use these technologies consciously and responsibly.

And choosing specializations that serve the future path of the state.

Sustainability and renewable energy: A firm national commitment

The President reiterated that sustainability is an integral part of the UAE’s development project.

Protecting the environment and preserving resources is a well-established approach in the country.

He pointed to the expansion of Emirati investments in renewable energy and the work to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

This makes the country’s experience a global model in green energy.

Extensive economic partnerships and a strong presence in international peace.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed touched on the expansion of the UAE’s network of economic partnerships across different continents,

Based on international confidence and internal stability.

He also affirmed the state’s continued support for peace and dialogue, its active humanitarian role in assisting people during crises, and its commitment to strengthening international cooperation.

His Highness concluded his speech with a phrase that embodies the spirit of the UAE and its openness:

“We open our hearts and minds to everyone who shares our story of success and ambition for a better tomorrow.”
