Arlington, USA – Ibrahima Konate, the French national team defender, confirmed that “Les Bleus” are ready to face Spain in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup. He stressed that his team is entering the match with great confidence, without considering predictions or prior calculations.
The French national team will meet their Spanish counterparts on Tuesday evening in a highly anticipated match to determine the first team to qualify for the World Cup final.
Konate said during the pre-match press conference: “We are not afraid of Spain or any other team. We will prepare in the best way possible, and our goal is for the result to be in our favor”.
He added: “Spain has an exceptional team and high-level players, so it is impossible to focus on a particular player, even if Lamine Yamal is performing at a great level”.
Regarding France being considered the favorite to reach the final, he replied: “We will remain humble and will not fall into the trap of expectations or predictions, because such matches are decided only on the field”.
Spain had qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Belgium 2-1, while France secured their place in the final four after beating Morocco 2-0.
