Houston, USA – Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of the Portuguese national team, continued to make history in the World Cup tournaments, after leading his country to victory over Uzbekistan by scoring two goals during the match held between them as part of the third round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Ronaldo opened the scoring early for Portugal in the sixth minute with a powerful shot that found the back of the net, before returning to add his second goal and the third for his country in the 40th minute, confirming his remarkable presence in the tournament.
With his two goals against Uzbekistan, the Portuguese star raised his tally to 10 goals in his World Cup history, making him the sole leader in Portugal’s all-time World Cup goalscorers, surpassing the legend Eusebio, who scored 9 goals.
Ronaldo continues to strengthen his position among the top scorers in World Cup history, while Argentina’s Lionel Messi tops the list of all-time top scorers in the competition with 18 goals.
