Rabat, Morocco – Mohamed Wahbi, the coach of the Moroccan national team, announced the final squad for the “Atlas Lions” in preparation for participating in the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The next edition of the World Cup will kick off on June 11 and run until July 19, with 48 teams participating for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The draw resulted in the Moroccan national team being placed in Group C, alongside the national teams of Brazil, Scotland and Haiti, in a group that awaits tough matches during the first round.
Morocco’s final squad included Al Ahly’s Youssef Belamri, selected by coach Mohamed Wahbi. Meanwhile, Pyramids FC’s right-back Mohamed Chibi was omitted from the Atlas Lions’ World Cup roster.
The coach selected 26 players for the final squad of the Moroccan national team, along with 3 players on a reserve list, in case of any changes that may occur before the start of the tournament.
The Moroccan national team roster is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Yassine Bounou, Munir El Kajoui, Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti.
Defense: Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Anas Salaheddine, Youssef Belamri, Issa Diop, Chadi Riad, Zakaria El Ouahidi, Redouane Halhal, Nayef Aguerd.
Midfield: Nael El Aynaoui, Bilal El Khannous, Ezzedine Ounahi, Ayoub Bouadi, Ismail Sibari, Sofyan Amrabat, Samir El Morabit.
Attackers: Brahim Diaz, Abdel Samad Zalzouli, Ayoub Amimouni, Soufiane Rahimi, Chamseddine Talbi, Yassine Jassim, Ayoub El Kaabi.
Reserve list: Al-Mahdi Al-Harar, Amin Al-Saba’i, Marwan Saadan.
