Madrid, Spain – Atletico Madrid achieved an important victory over their host Valencia with a score of 2-0, in the match that brought them together on Saturday evening, as part of the Spanish League competitions for the 2025-2026 season.
The match, which took place as part of the 34th round of La Liga, was hosted by the Mestalla stadium.
Iker Luque Serra opened the scoring for Atletico Madrid in the 74th minute, following a decisive pass from Obed Vargas.
Miguel Kubo extended his team’s lead by adding the second goal in the 82nd minute, taking advantage of a superb pass from Antoine Griezmann.
With this result, Atletico Madrid raised its tally to 63 points in fourth place, while Valencia’s tally remained frozen at 39 points in thirteenth place.
