Brussels – A coalition of 26 countries, including the United Kingdom and France, alongside the European Union, issued a joint statement condemning the Iranian authorities’ continued execution of protesters in the wake of recent demonstrations. Consequently, the signatories stressed that employing the maximum penalty to silence dissent and intimidate the population remains entirely unjustifiable.

Furthermore, signatory nations called on Tehran to immediately cease applying the death penalty against demonstrators and release all individuals subjected to arbitrary detention. As a result, diplomatic pressure continues to mount on Iranian authorities to halt state-sanctioned actions and safeguard civil liberties.

Demands for Human Rights Protections and Fair Trials

On the other hand, the joint statement urged Tehran to listen to its citizens’ demands and implement concrete measures guaranteeing human rights protections. Additionally, Western powers reaffirmed that ensuring fair trials and upholding fundamental freedoms represent mandatory legal obligations for Iranian judicial bodies.

Consequently, this multilateral action underscores growing global concern regarding human rights conditions across Iran. Ultimately, international diplomatic efforts aim to prevent the judiciary from being utilized as a tool for political retribution and public intimidation.

Finally, the joint statement puts Iranian leadership under renewed scrutiny regarding international compliance. Ultimately, Tehran’s response to these global demands will determine the trajectory of its diplomatic relations with Western nations.
