Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced that the draw for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, to be held in Saudi Arabia next year, will take place on May 9 in Diriyah.
The draw was originally scheduled to take place on April 11 in Riyadh. It was subsequently postponed to ensure the full participation of all representatives from member federations and the General Assembly, given the current circumstances.
The 19th edition of the tournament features 23 teams so far, out of a total of 24 slots. The final spot will be decided in a match between Lebanon and Yemen, scheduled for June 4th in Group B.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 7 to February 5 of next year. The cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Khobar will host the matches.
The 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups, with each group containing 4 teams in the first round stage.
