Tehran, Iran – The Strait of Hormuz is experiencing heightened tensions in maritime traffic, with reports of disruptions and delays to numerous commercial vessels in the vital waterway, leading to unprecedented congestion.

Maritime estimates indicate that thousands of sailors aboard hundreds of ships are facing difficult waiting conditions at sea, amid tightened security measures and growing concerns about escalating tensions in the region.

According to maritime sources, global shipping companies are closely monitoring the situation and reassessing the routes of some vessels, anticipating any developments that could affect safe navigation in this strategic waterway, through which a significant portion of the world’s energy supply passes.

These developments come at a time of heightened security sensitivity in the Strait, amid repeated international calls to ensure freedom of navigation and avoid any escalation that could threaten the stability of energy markets and global trade.
