Rabat, Morocco – Nigeria secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after a resounding 4-0 victory over Mozambique in their round of 16 match on Monday evening.

The match was hosted at the sports complex in the city of Fez, during which the Nigerian national team imposed its control from the first minutes, relying on physical superiority and speed in the offensive transition.

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring for the “Super Eagles” in the 20th minute, after he fired a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that found the back of the net, before Victor Osimhen reinforced the lead with a second goal in the 25th minute, taking advantage of a perfect cross from Lookman that he put into the goal from close range.

At the start of the second half, the Nigerian team continued its offensive pressure, with Osimhen returning to shake Mozambique’s net again in the 47th minute, scoring his second personal goal and the third for his country, after a decisive pass from Lookman inside the penalty area.

Before the end of the match, Akor Adams completed Nigeria’s four-goal haul in the 76th minute with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, confirming the Nigerian team’s complete dominance in the match.
