Cairo, Egypt – Al Ahly SC has submitted a formal request to security authorities for permission to allow 50,000 fans to attend their match against JS Kabylie of Algeria. The match is part of the opening round of the group stage of the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League.

This request is part of the club’s strategy to bolster fan support for the team at the start of its continental campaign, after Al Ahly lost the title in the previous edition to Pyramids FC. Sources indicate that club officials are in intensive contact with the Ministry of Interior and the Egyptian Football Association’s security committee. The aim of these contacts is to ensure the safety of this large number of fans. This number represents a significant increase from previous attendance limits, which ranged between 10,000 and 30,000 fans at previous matches.

The match, scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2025, will be held at Cairo International Stadium, which has a capacity of over 74,000 spectators. Kick-off is at 6:00 PM Cairo time. Live coverage will be available on ON Time Sports channel.

Al Ahly begins its campaign in Group C, also known as the “Arab Group,” which also includes Morocco’s FAR Rabat and Tanzania’s Young Africans, with a match against Algeria’s JS Kabylie. The team aims for a strong start towards direct qualification for the quarterfinals, bolstered by widespread fan support.

Al Ahly, the record holder with 12 African titles, is counting on the support of its fans at Cairo Stadium. This support will be crucial for achieving a perfect start to the tournament this season.
